Director of Sales for Critical Infrastructure Sector Cybersecurity

Securing users and applications in critical infrastructure sectors has become a national emergency. In response, federal regulators are mandating Zero Trust architectures and phishing-resistant MFA. But public cloud IAM solutions developed for IT are too risky and limited for Operational Technology (OT). OT requires a cutting-edge solution that deploys wherever needed – in the cloud, on-premise, and within air-gapped networks. That’s SurePassID, and we’re seeking a director of sales to lead our next phase of IT/OT organic growth.
Overview
You will have a track record of at least five years of consistently exceeding individual quota and acquiring new logos in cybersecurity software sales to industries like defense, energy, healthcare, financial services, transportation, or government. You will also have at least three years of success growing a sales team that consistently outperforms against plan. This will include proven success in motivating and coaching so salespeople excel at relationship building, finding and closing new business, and consultative selling to buying teams with inherent risk aversion.
You will also be willing to travel up to 30% of your time throughout CONUS for trade shows, conferences, sales meetings, and hiring and coaching your sales team.
We will expect you to guide your team to success across multiple critical infrastructure sectors by selling solutions that meet needs which aren’t fully understood or prioritized by buyers. The competition can’t outperform us, and our technical support is legendary, but there are both legacy incumbents and VC-backed startups that will need to be outsold. Our typical ACV is $35,000-$75,000.
We will expect you to earn more than $175,000/year in combined salary and commissions. Commissions are uncapped; so are your potential earnings. But that won’t come easily. Success will require strong business acumen, deep cybersecurity industry familiarity, and comfort being held accountable and doing the same with your team, including coaching, hiring, and firing. You must be equally skilled at detailed technical conversations with cybersecurity experts, and high-level security strategy discussions with CXOs, board directors, and consultants.

Our sales team is responsible for prospecting, sourcing opportunities, and closing deals. Our skilled sales engineers manage POCs and deployments. Our customer success team handles ongoing customer relationships. That frees up you and
your team to bring in new business consistently, both by following up on the large number of leads created by our effective marketing efforts and active outbound prospecting, networking, and social selling.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of consistently exceeding individual quota and acquiring new logos in cybersecurity software sales to industries like defense, energy, healthcare, financial services, transportation, or government
- 3+ years of success growing a sales team that consistently outperforms against plan.
- Proven success in motivating and coaching so salespeople excel at relationship building, finding and closing new business, and consultative selling to buying teams with inherent risk aversion.
